Growing up, Aarushi closely observed the public service journey of her father, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Union Education Minister of India. From being an important part of the movement that led to the creation of Uttarakhand as a separate state to later leading the state as its Chief Minister, his work was always centred around bringing positive change.

One of the defining moments during his tenure as Union Education Minister was the implementation of India’s National Education Policy after more than three decades—a milestone that reflected the power of ideas to transform society.

Journey & Perspective

Witnessing this commitment to nation-building inspired Aarushi to find her own path to contribute to society.

Over the years, travelling to more than fifteen countries exposed her to diverse cultures and perspectives, yet it also deepened her appreciation for India’s rich heritage—its stories, music, art, and cinema.

She realised that Indian storytelling holds extraordinary power, and that cinema could become a medium capable of inspiring thought, touching hearts, and influencing change across generations and geographies.

As a producer, she leads the company’s overall creative direction—overseeing story development, project packaging, production execution, partnerships, and distribution strategy.

Under her leadership, Himshrri Films has positioned itself as a dynamic new-age studio that blends strong storytelling with emerging formats and global collaborations.

Growing up, Aarushi closely witnessed how leadership and policy can create real societal change through education, culture, and public initiatives.

Inspired by this belief that meaningful change can reach millions through powerful narratives, she chose media and cinema as a medium to influence, inspire, and tell stories that matter.

This philosophy continues to guide the company’s content strategy—developing stories that are entertaining yet socially resonant, rooted in Indian ethos while appealing to global audiences.

Under Aarushi’s leadership, Himshrri Films produced the widely appreciated web series “Life Hill Gayi” for Disney+ Hotstar (now JioStar), which ranked among the most-watched shows on the Ormax charts.

The studio has also produced vertical micro-drama content such as “Lucky in Love” and “Jodi Killer” for Amazon MX Player, demonstrating its adaptability to emerging digital storytelling formats and mobile-first audiences.
